INSPIRATION FOR THIS ARTWORK

I’ve always found elephants to be full of quiet magic... so immense... yet so gentle. On our bush visits, it never fails to amaze me how silently they move. One moment, the landscape is still… the next, an elephant is there, as if it emerged from the trees themselves.

This piece was painted to echo that moment of surprise... letting the background soften and dissolve while the subject comes into focus, one brushstroke at a time.
