INSPIRATION FOR THIS ARTWORK

Lilac-breasted Rollers never fail to make me stop and stare. They’re common in the bushveld, yet always feel like a treat to spot - especially when they sit so perfectly still... showing off every imaginable colour from lilac to turquoise.

I love how they appear like little ornaments dotted on dry twigs or old branches... always ready to swoop or pose. This piece was a celebration of their colour and poise - pure eye candy with feathers.
